MIAMI (AP) — Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, the newest candidate in the Republican presidential field, drew some distinctions between himself and his rivals Thursday, suggesting that the six-week abortion ban signed into law by Florida Gov. A motorcyclist died in a crash with a pickup truck in Aurora, police said.The crash happened about 3:55 p.m. Wednesday on Tower Road at Interstate 70, according to an Aurora Police Department news release.A 31-year-old man riding a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle was northbound on Tower when he was struck by a 58-year-old driver in a 2018 GMC Sierra pickup truck. The Sierra was southbound on Tower and turning onto eastbound I-70 at the time.The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet and riding jacket, was taken to a hospital where he died. A man suspected in a homicide in Diamond Bar was arrested by authorities at John Wayne Airport Wednesday evening.Sercan Naldoken, a 32-year-old man from Downey, was taken into custody around 10:20 p.m., about 12 hours after a woman's body was found on the side of the road near the 60 Freeway.The victim has been identified only as a 56-year-old woman from Downey. She was found by a California Highway Patrol officer who located an unoccupied parked car on the right shoulder of the freeway.The officer got out of the car to check on the driver, but found no one in the vehicle. The officer searched the surrounding area and eventually located the woman's body behind a concrete wall near the vehicle.The CHP determined that the woman's death was a homicide and Naldoken was eventually identified as a person of interest. OAKLAND — A 46-year-old man known around town by the nickname “Scarface” was convicted of human trafficking, pimping, and pandering a 16-year-old girl, court records.Lawrence Bomani Johnson, of Oakland, was convicted June 8 after a trial that spanned several weeks. The trial took a turn, though, when prosecutors dropped several charges midway through, all involving a second alleged victim.Johnson was originally charged with trafficking two girls — one who was detained during an undercover prostitution investigation, and a second who was identified after a Contra Costa District Attorney’s employee told police a colleague was dating a girl who was being trafficked by Johnson.
