AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Monday's high of 105° at Camp Mabry tied a record first set in 1934, tied in 2011, then tied again last year. Our triple digit heat rolls on. We've now experienced our 17th consecutive day with highs of 100º or hotter, which ties for the 8th longest streak on record at Austin's Camp Mabry. By the end of the month we'll have moved into 2nd place.And, to no one's surprise, it didn't rain on Monday. There was no help from the sea breeze as all the rain stayed well east and southeast of Central Texas. 2023 AUSTIN WEATHER DATA Today will be Day #34 with a high of 100° and higher. The Gophers football program continues to look up at its arch rivals going into the final season of division play.The annual Cleveland.com Big Ten preseason poll has Minnesota behind Wisconsin and Iowa in the West Division. The overall results from 37 voters were released Tuesday ahead of Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis this week.The U, which has never won a division crown, finished third with 176 votes and one first-place vote. Iowa came in second at 232 and 16 picks for the top spot. Wisconsin and new head coach Luke Fickell were first with 233 total votes and 20 for first.In the East, Michigan edged Ohio State for the top spot for the first time in four years. ST. LOUIS - A man was murdered overnight in a Berkeley strip mall parking lot. Tuesday morning, the Major Case Squad has been called in on the case.The head of The Major Case Squad for this investigation told FOX 2that the victim was an adult male who was shot and killed on Frost Avenue just off North Hanley Road and not far from I-170.That man pronounced dead at the scene here earlier. His body was taken away a short time ago. Investigators have been looking at the car on scene that has several bullet holes in it and has some connection to the case. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A judge sentenced Johnny Johnson to death back in 2005. Wednesday will mark 21 years since he killed 6-year-old Casey Williamson in Valley Park. Her killer is scheduled to be executed a week from Tuesday.However, Missourians to abolish the death penalty plan to protest Tuesday at the State Capitol. They say Johnson's case highlights the troubling flaws in the justice system's treatment of people with mental illness. They also explained that Johnson struggled with developmental disabilities and severe mental illness all his life - but never received treatment despite trying to get it. WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. - There are reports of a possible shooting at a MetroLink station in Washington Park, Illinois Tuesday.Our Bommarito Automotive Group SkyFOX helicopter was flying over the area, where medical staff could be seen chest compressions to a person before they were taken away in an ambulance. Metro public safety officials and several emergency crews are still at the scene. Police responded to 'Adam's Smokehouse' in the Clifton Heights neighborhood of south St. Louis a little before 3:30 a.m. The criminals smashed the front door to get in.
