HOUSTON (AP) — Adolis García hit a grand slam to highlight a seven-run fifth inning and the AL West-leading Texas Rangers slugged four homers in a 13-5 win over the Houston Astros in a tense game Wednesday night.Following his grand slam, García and Marcus Semien exchanged words with Martín Maldonado. That led to the benches and bullpens emptying. No punches were thrown in the scrum around home plate, but Maldonado and Semien were ejected.Tempers were hot earlier in the game. Both benches were warned in the third inning after Houston’s Framber Valdez hit Semien in the left shoulder with the first pitch of his at-bat. The Rangers’ Andrew Heaney had hit Yordan Alvarez in the right shoulder with a pitch in the first inning.Semien, Nathaniel Lowe and Sam Huff also homered for Texas, which avoided a three-game sweep and held on to its two-game lead over the Astos in the division.Lowe hit a two-run homer in the third.Texas got to Valdez (8-7) for four more runs in the fourth. DENVER (KDVR) – Denver Public Schools is moving closer to the goal of installing air conditioning in 24 schools. Funding is part of a $795 million bond passed by voters in 2020. Four thousand students in 11 schools now have air conditioning as the work continues.“It’s really important to invest in public education because it is our most valuable resource,” said DPS spokesperson Giorgia Alexander. FOX31 joined DPS on a tour of Polaris Elementary School to get an up-close look at how HPM Contracting is installing a much-needed air conditioning system."We want to make sure our kids stay cool so they can learn,” Alexander said. The school was selected based on the Heat Equity Index, which takes temperature, location and special needs of students into consideration. President Joe Biden ordered his team to share evidence of Russian war crimes in Ukraine with the International Criminal Court — a stunning shift of U.S. policy toward the tribunal and a move that goes against the Pentagon’s recommendation.A U.S. official confirmed that the administration briefed lawmakers on the decision, though the White House has yet to publicly announce the handover of materials. Sens. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), members of the Senate Judiciary Committee who support the evidence transfer, said Wednesday night in a statement that “we are pleased that the administration is finally supporting the ICC’s investigation.”The New York Times was first to report the news. The U.S. did not sign the Rome Statute to become a member of the ICC and therefore argues that it’s not subject to the court’s jurisdiction. Washington feared that an ICC prosecutor would have the power to investigate the actions of U.S. troops in war — a position held by Democra...Tee Thursday: Poquoy Brook like an old friend

Years ago when my husband’s work was based out of Taunton, he had a group of buddies he’d play post-work golf with on a regular basis. The other day, as we clicked on tee times and pondered to play next, a memory popped into his head.“Poquoy Brook Golf Club!” he said. “I used to love that place.”We were able to score a mid-day tee time for the following day and headed out into the heart of Lakeville to a club I’d never heard of and wasn’t sure how to pronounce (It’s pehh-kwoy).What did I find? A fabulous championship course with a bit of a punch, friendly staff who made us feel like we were visiting friends, and I don’t say this lightly: perhaps the best cheeseburger I’ve ever scarfed down in my life.We arrived early for our round, a great idea at Poquoy because their driving range, short game practice area and putting green are simply spectacular. The driving range has 25 stations, a bucket purchase system that takes your card and does not require those silly coins (hurrah for the l...Latest news
