Prince George’s Co. police see increase in construction thefts targeting Latinos A disturbing trend in Prince George’s County, Maryland, is now on the police department’s radar after Latino construction workers have been robbed at gunpoint of their tools and money on job sites.“These are individuals out here making a living. They’re out there working in the sun and in the cold, and you have individuals taking advantage of them,” said Capt. Saul Serpas with the Prince George’s County Police Department. He said thieves are looking for opportunities online.“Latino construction workers are also attempting to buy tools at a cheap rate on Facebook marketplace, and when they get to the meeting place — to the location — they’re robbed of their money,” Serpas said. There have been several cases of reported thefts targeting Latinos, he said, because they are known to carry large amounts of cash.“The reason they carry a lot of money is, oftentimes, they’re not able to open bank accounts because of their undocu...

Colorado Buffaloes’ two-way star Travis Hunter returns from lacerated liver that cost him 3 games BOULDER, Colo. As Hunter took the field, coach Deion Sanders walked out and hugged him as he prepared to line up at cornerback. When the Buffaloes got the ball, Hunter lined up at wide receiver and later scored on a 24-yard catch-and-run, after which he went to his knees, looked up with his arms outstretched and his palms up as if in thankful prayer.A flag was thrown for unsportsmanlike conduct following the gesture by Hunter, whose first career touchdown for Colorado made it 14-0.Hunter missed games against Oregon, USC and Arizona State and Coach Prime originally slated his star’s return for Oct. 28 at UCLA following the Bu...

Gaskin: Project recognizes Black women who shaped Boston At a time when some leaders are questioning the legitimacy of Black studies and denigrating lessons about Black history or racism as “woke” or as “Critical Race Theory” — terms that white supremacists have twisted to make them sound bad — we did something different. They include abolitionists, suffragists, U...
