In perhaps the weirdest intersection of healthcare and pop culture, Travis Barker, drummer for rock band Blink-182, is teaming with nonalcoholic beverage company Liquid Death Mountain Water for a hard-rocking enema kit.I'm not making this up.The Liquid Death Enema of The State Collectible Enema Kit pays homage to Blink-182's 1999 album "Enema of the State."According to the Liquid Death website, the $182 enema kit is in fact "a limited edition collectible adult art piece and not intended for use as a real medical device," which kind of takes the fun out of it.The kit includes a can of Liquid Death water (natch) that's been hand-signed by Barker (or so they say). And there's an enema bulb.In a video on the Liquid Death site, Barker -- a.k.a. Mr. Kourtney Kardashian -- says that "thanks to my new Enema of the State collectible enema kit, I've been able to turn my dreams into reality."Dare to dream, right? As a collectible, this is certainly one of the goofier products to hit the market....

Dicus believes that the spike in violent crimes is directly correlated with the high number of at-...

A Back Look at Coachella Party Fashion: Festival season is warming up, especially after Coachella weekends one and two. Flipping through the plethora of party pics and step and repeat poses that came through our email inbox, one thing is very clear: skin is still in!As a reporter who covered the festival (and the Coachella party scene) for several years, we always seem to find common threads in terms of different fashion eras at Coachella, and at the biggest off-site bashes. From American Apparel jogger getups to Indian headdresses (now considered problematic), feathers and fringe to the ubiquitous floral head garlands and boho dresses to full-on beachwear (swimsuits and speedos), trends may vary over the years, but certain things never change.Attendees want to look sexy, colorful and fun. Past firings carry lessons for Fox after Carlson

Published Mon, 24 Feb 2025 19:26:23 GMT

By David Bauder | Associated PressNEW YORK — Before ousting Tucker Carlson, Fox News had twice fired wildly popular hosts – and both times the network recovered better than the stars it cut loose.Fox’s dismissals of Glenn Beck in 2011 and Bill O’Reilly in 2017 offer lessons in what the post-Carlson fallout might be. Carlson was let go on Monday, less than a week after Fox agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems $787 million for airing bogus claims of voter fraud following the 2020 election.Fox’s two most popular programs last year — Carlson’s being one of them — were the replacements for Beck and O’Reilly.“It seems like the parts are interchangeable,” said SiriusXM and CNN personality Michael Smerconish. “They’ve built a machine over there that seems to function even when the pistons are replaced.”Still, Carlson’s ability to connect with supporters of former President Donald Trump could benefit him wherever he lands.Bec...

Teen who inspired JW House would appreciate families’ connection

The guests at Wednesday’s Celebration of Hope breakfast in Campbell — a fundraiser for JW House – are about to be treated to an amazing story about the surprising connection between two families. It’s a tale that would have been appreciated by the teenager who dreamed of creating JW House as a home away from home for families whose kids were undergoing medical treatment. For Racy Ming Copley, the story started last year when her 12-year-old daughter, Sophia Copley, discovered a lump on her side that was diagnosed in December as Ewing sarcoma — a cancerous tumor that grows on the soft tissue around bones. In Sophia’s case, the tumor was on one of her ribs, and doctors wanted her to begin chemotherapy right away, scuttling plans for an end-of-year family vacation to celebrate the 50th birthday of her dad, Myles Copley. “Instead of going to Hawaii, we went to chemo,” Racy Copley said.Sophia is on a compressed chemotherapy schedule, meaning...
