BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- One day after a judge tossed out an eight-count indictment that included an attempted murder charge, the attorney for Vito Caselnova and the Saratoga County district attorney are speaking out about the decision to drop the case.Caselnova, who was involved in a shootout in November 2022 in Saratoga Springs, is currently facing no charges. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – Some middle school students not eligible for bus transportation in a St. Charles neighborhood are now able to ride a Francis Howell school bus.A district spokeswoman confirmed the adjustments."We review each request on a case-by-case basis and implement changes in alignment with district policies and procedures. Authorities in Jurupa Valley are searching for a suspect after they fatally struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. According to a release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 5000 block of Mission Boulevard on calls of a major traffic collision shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Upon arriving at the location, deputies located the victim in the roadway and pronounced them dead on scene.The victim was identified as Jamie Pruitt, 42, of Jurupa Valley. A jury has awarded $20 million to the family of a woman killed in a DUI crash by a former elementary school principal in Lancaster.The family of Jessica Ordaz, 29, filed the wrongful death lawsuit after Mary Noel Kruppe, 40, killed Ordaz in 2018.On Nov. 15, 2018, Kruppe was driving while intoxicated on 50th Street East near Avenue P in the Palmdale area when she veered into oncoming traffic.She crashed head-on into the vehicle driven by Ordaz, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Ordaz was killed on impact.Attorneys representing the victim’s family said Kruppe was transported to the hospital, where tests showed she had a blood alcohol level of nearly three times the legal limit. On Feb. 4, 2020, Kruppe was found guilty of second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. She received a prison sentence of 15 years to life. (KRON) -- San Mateo County formed a Domestic Violence Task Force following the homicides of five women this year at the hands of abusers, county supervisor Noelia Corzo announced Thursday.Five homicides this year in San Mateo County have been the result of domestic violence, according to law enforcement officials. (KRON) -- A power outage in the South Bay Thursday night affected more than 15,000 PG&E customers, according to PG&E's outage map. (KDVR) - The victim of a moose attack in the high country Tuesday morning shared her amazing story.Chris Ray said she's lucky to be alive after getting trampled by a moose several times then making the brave walk back to her home to get help.Ray takes walks along the South Saint Vrain trailhead near Ward."I see moose sometimes," Ray said, "When I see them, I turn around and come home."
