There’s no shortage of “fun” in California, so relocating to a place with nearly as many leisure options is no easy task.As a public service – not to mention highlighting an economic lesson or two – my trusty spreadsheet created “fun” grades for each state to help anyone contemplating an out-of-state move.Now, if you’re in a hurry for the rankings, my math recommends moving to Florida, or Hawaii, Massachusetts, Colorado or Minnesota.That’s the overall conclusion of a scorecard derived from eight measures of fun. How do states outside of California compare on benchmarks including how much is invested in recreation, what’s the level of leisurely resources, how tasty is the food and how fine is the weather?Please note that any state-by-state scorecard is a rough estimate of the ranking’s target. Three years after the police killing of George Floyd, a Los Gatos-based social justice nonprofit is hosting a first-of-its-kind day of remembrance and community healing.The event is one in AWO’s slate of summer events to bring people of all backgrounds together to learn about each other’s similarities and celebrate differences.“It’s a moment to see how to move forward; it’s a moment to check how we’re healing. (KRON) -- One person was stabbed on Tuesday evening during an armed robbery near Jack London Square, the Oakland Police Department confirmed. The incident occurred at 10:14 p.m. on the 60 block of Franklin Street. Oakland police asking for public’s help in locating possible kidnap victim Oakland PD officers responded and made contact with a victim suffering from a stab wound. The victim told officers that three unknown suspects, one armed with a knife, confronted them and demanded their property.After taking the victim's property, one of the suspects stabbed the victim. The three responsible then fled the area on foot, heading in an unknown direction. The victim was taken to a hospital and is listed in stable condition, police said. (BCN) -- Oakland police have asked for the public's help in locating a possible kidnap victim after two men were seen forcing a female into a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses told police they saw the incident in the 10200 block of E Street about 2 p.m. Alameda County DA Price requests $300K for onboarding expenses, blames previous administration for lack of support One of the men was described as Black, in his 30s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with dreadlocks, wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other was described as a white man about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, wearing a red mask and white shirt. The only description of the female was that she had black hair, police said. The white Chevrolet truck, with a black cargo cover, had California license plate 8Y51451, according to police. (BCN) -- Police arrested a man Tuesday suspected of robbing the Exchange Bank in Santa Rosa on April 13, according to an announcement from the Santa Rosa Police Department. Following a month-long investigation, police arrested 41-year-old Kyle Hoderlein, of Santa Rosa. Police were able to identify Hoderlein as the suspect using "different investigative means including DNA," according to Tuesday's announcement.
