20th homicide recorded in Vallejo after late-night shooting

(KRON) -- A man died after a late-night shooting on Thursday, the Vallejo Police Department said in a press release. The shooting happened around 11:40 p.m. on the 500 block of Selfridge Street. Vallejo police were informed that a woman took the victim to a nearby hospital. The victim had at least one gunshot wound and died at the hospital. He was 35 years old, according to VPD. His identity is being withheld until the next of kin is notified. Epilepsy, a broad term used for a disorder that causes seizures, can often be misunderstood, which is why a D.C. mother said she is working with local lawmakers in an effort to increase awareness in schools.Mollie Ellis, who has an 8-year-old daughter with epilepsy in the D.C. public school system, said she has endured disturbing situations involving nurses and school employees who have no idea how to handle her daughter’s condition.
